Hi Derek, I replied to your message to my e-mail but not sure if the address you sent it through was your e-mail or from the Squiz website and that you may not have seen it. Please let me know if I have sent it to the wrong address as there was a lot of info for you on my message. Alan

Hi Derek. Just been sat reading all the comments re – Dalgliesh and in some cases Ropner. I saw o the photos of me and Bob Dennet Thorpe on deck struggling with an Engine Room fan. Also my wife Hazel in photo with George Featherstone. This was from when we were together on Letchworth when we did Antwerp, States, Rijeka, Suez, Kuwait , etc. etc. I sailed with Ian Slack a few times with Ropner. A good guy. Also met Neil G when I was working in Dartford. He was Super for Everard’s if my memory is correct.

Is your site still operational as last message I see is from Oct 2018.

    Alan

As a resident of Churchill, loved the exitement of the first ship of the season and its arrival. It was a time of exploring the ships, the history of the shipping company, and collecting the “Dalgliesh china” as we called the yearly offering of a Royal Winton design with the flag of the company.
